Welcome Your Newly Elected Board Members
The results are in, and here are your elected board members.
The four regular board members are elected to two-year terms.
Bryce Dole is the crime and public safety reporter at the Bend Bulletin. Erin Tierney-Heggenstaller is the executive editor of The Chronicle, which serves the southern Willamette Valley, including Creswell, Cottage Grove and Springfield.
Two board members, Henry Houston and Katy Sword, were re-elected to two-year terms. Houston is the outgoing board president. Sword is the treasurer of SPJ Oregon.
And the board will welcome a student to its recently created education seat, who serves a one-year term. Hannah Seibold is a reporter for the Catalyst Journalism Project at the University of Oregon.
The board is saying goodbye to two members: Rachel Alexander and Jody Lawrence-Turner. SPJ Oregon thanks these two board members for all of the work they did in supporting journalism, from holding events throughout the state to advocating for better transparency.
At its Wednesday, Oct. 19, meeting, the SPJ Oregon board members will elect its president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
