Join our board!

We’re looking for an SPJ member to join our volunteer board as an interim member until the end of September, 2021.

Our board is made up of eight volunteers who are student, professional, or retired journalists and media professionals. They dedicate at least 10 hours a month to attending our monthly meetings, planning events, and supporting initiatives that benefit journalists in Oregon and SW Washington. We ask board members to help with various projects, including organizing a fundraiser event, planning a journalism conference, working with SPJ Washington and SPJ Region 10 leaders in organizing our regional contest, supporting lobbying efforts in Salem, and distributing grants.

We’re looking for enthusiastic candidates who can lead the way in supporting journalists across our state.

The board will vote on this interim position at its next meeting on June 16.
