Representing journalists and media professionals in Oregon and Southwest Washington, we advocate for government transparency and public records reform, provide networking and training opportunities, and support our community.
SPJ members receive free or reduced pricing to chapter programs and help support SPJ’s national efforts to protect the First Amendment, freedom of press, media credibility and the public’s access to information. There are no additional dues to join the Oregon chapter.
SPJ Oregon subcommittees are open to all members. They meet semi-regularly by phone to make decisions about organizing social events, informational trainings, or legislative initiatives. Help the board make big decisions by joining the Events, Trainings, or the Freedom if Information committees.
SPJ Oregon covers a vast region spanning all of Oregon and into Southwest Washington, which is why we organize year-round events across the region and encourage members to organize events near them, whether they be casual social gatherings or informational trainings.
